How it's done
- STEP 1
After a full consultation and explanation of treatment, you will be advised on the protocol for the parasite cleanse. this involves a series of supplements and homeopathic remedies taken over a two moth period. On week 8 you will come to the Norfolk Clinic for your enema and colonic,
- STEP 2
You will be asked to enter the bathroom to remove all clothing below the waist (apart from socks as they will keep your feet warm during therapy) empty your bladder if need be and cleanse the area with biodegradable wipes. Cover yourself with the bath sheet and enter the colonic room.
- STEP 3
Your lower body is covered at all times and the abdomen is gently palpated to feel for any resistance or areas of sensitivity. You will be asked to roll onto your left side while the speculum is inserted (this is very quick and discrete with minimal discomfort)
- STEP 4
You will be guided to roll onto your back and to get comfortable for the introduction of water from the Colonic Hydrotherapy and the Enema, both therapies run in tandem.
- STEP 5
There will be a series of 'fills' and 'empties' at each stage you will be guided and the abdomen gently massaged. You will not smell any odours as this is a closed system, you do not always see lots of stool removed, it is quite normal to not see anything as this is a sign of dehydration.
- STEP 6
When therapy is completed, you will be asked to lie on the left side once more for the removal of the speculum. You can then take yourself back to the bathroom to finish evacuation of the bowel.
- STEP 7
Aftercare is given.
Tips before the Colonic
On the day of your colonic, it is recommended you have light meals and do not eat any food for two hours beforehand. Wear comfortable, loose clothing and book the therapy on a day that you can relax afterwards and allow the body to cleanse and detox. We kindly request that your personal hygiene is at its optimum.
Tips after the Colonic
Abstain from alcohol, spicy and rich foods for at least 24 hrs after therapy. If you have had a longstanding condition of constipation or several health problems you may experience a headache or fatigue on the first couple of treatments. This may be due to the detoxinating process, if this happens then listen to your body, rest and hydrate with water. In some cases you may experience slight bloating for a few hours post treatment, as trapped makes its way out of the colon. It is recommended to take peppermint capsules or a peppermint tea. Since the colon has been cleared of solid matter, it may take on average 3-4 days to fill up again and normal bowel movements are resumed. Some water is absorbed via the colon wall during the colonic so the need to urinate may increase a few hours after therapy. The beneficial effect of flushing the kidneys may also be enhanced by drinking water with a squeeze of lemon in the glass or by adding in the Hydration Duo. You will be provided with a course of Probio+ that you will be requested to finish in the days after therapy to restore and replenish the good bacteria in the gut.
