Cupping
Please Note: This treatment is for the Norfolk Clinic NOT London Clinic
Cupping is a time-honored healing practice that may provide pain relief. Cups are applied to various areas of the body, creating a vacuum that lifts the skin, the force of suction pull stagnant blood toward the surface of your skin. The idea is to increase your body’s natural healing response in these areas. This traditional form of Chinese and West Asian medicine has been used for centuries.
PLEASE NOTE: There is a high chance the area treated will result in 'healthy bruising' this may last for 10-14 days.
You cannot have cupping if:
You are on any blood thinning medication, suffer with anaemia, epilepsy, blood clotting issues, suffered a stroke or cardiovascular disease, pregnant or have a pacemaker.
- Further Information
- Dry: A suction device is used to remove air from the cups. The vacuum force pulls your skin up into the cup.
- Running: This is like dry cupping. But before treatment Anoint skin integrity oil will be applied to the skin. Once the cups are in place, movement will commence with the cup sliding over the affected area this may result in drastic bruising.
- Bleeding: A plum hammer that has minute needles is used to lightly puncture your skin before placing the cups. This allows for the release of toxins through the suctioned blood captured in the cup.
